The Diocese of Wilmington has partnered with Damascus to reserve 100 spaces for the weeks of July 5-10 (middle school) and July 12-17 (high school). We strongly encourage young people to register for those weeks, if possible, to join with other campers from the Diocese. We do not have specific spaces reserved for any other week, although campers are free to register for different dates if they are available.
What is Damascus?
Damascus Summer Camp is a week-long residential camp for middle school and high school youth located in Emmitsburg, MD. Damascus Summer Camp engages young people into the sacramental life, mission and work of the Catholic Church. Damascus was founded in 2001 and this year will welcome nearly 10,000 campers from all over the country to their 3 camp locations.
Amidst the chaos of the world, Damascus Summer Camp offers young people a joy-filled immersion into the Gospel, creating an environment ripe for a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. While packed with adventurous activities designed to build confidence and push boundaries, what truly defines Damascus is its deep and intentional focus on vibrant Catholic tradition. Campers experience the richness of their faith through daily Mass, Adoration, the Rosary, and Reconciliation, all woven into the fabric of an exciting camp experience. Ultimately, campers leave not just with memories, but with the tools and encouragement to “LIVE THE ADVENTURE” of their faith back in their homes, schools, and parishes.
Cost and Registration Info
The cost of camp is $645 for a week of food, lodging, and high adventure. However, Bishop Koenig has made Damascus Summer Camp a priority, trusting that the Holy Spirit will lead our young people, families, schools, and parishes to a growth of Catholic identity. He is offering a generous scholarship of $145 to all families in need of financial support.
