ST. JOHN THE BELOVED WINS
2007 CYM VARSITY CHEERLEADING COMPETITION
On Sunday January 28th, St. John the Beloved won the 2007 Diocese of Wilmington Varsity Cheerleading Championship as part of the St. Mark’s High School Cheerleading Competition. St. John’s finished with a total of 248.5 points to capture the diocesan title. Other teams that participated and placement were 2nd place Holy Angels with 205.0 points, 3rd place Immaculate Heart of Mary with 174.5 points and 4th place St. Peter the Apostle in New Castle with 166.0 points.
In the Combined Division, St. Elizabeth was first place with 182.5 points and St. Matthew finished in second place with 127.5 points.
St. Peter the Apostle in New Castle won the 2007 Spirit Award named in memory of Eleanor DiSimplico Potts, who was very active in CYM Cheerleading. This is the second year in a row that St. Peter’s won the spirit award.
St. John the Beloved won the JV competition with 231 points.
