HOLY ANGELS WINS 2006 CYM VARSITY CHEERLEADING COMPETITION

On Sunday January 29th, Holy Angels won the 2006 Diocese of Wilmington Varsity Cheerleading Championship as part of the St. Mark’s High School Cheerleading Competition.  Holy Angels finished with a total of 223 points to capture the diocesan title.  Other teams that participated and placement were 2nd place St. John the Beloved with 218 points, 3rd place St. Peter, NC with 203 points, 4th place Immaculate Heart of Mary with 198.5 points, 5th place St. Hedwig with 192 points, 6th place Corpus Christi with 183 and 7th place St. Matthew with 181 points.

 

St. Peter the Apostle in New Castle won the 2006 Spirit Award named in memory of Eleanor DiSimplico Potts, who was very active in CYM Cheerleading.  This is the second year in a row that St. Peter’s won the spirit award.

 

Results of the JV competition are as follows: 1st place St. John the Beloved with 228 points and Our Lady of Fatima with 198 points.
