IHM WINS 2005 CYM VARSITY CHEERLEADING COMPETITION

On Saturday February 5th, Immaculate Heart of Mary won the 2005 Diocese of Wilmington Varsity Cheerleading Championship as part of the St. Mark’s High School Cheerleading Competition.  This was the first ever varsity cheerleading title for Immaculate Heart of Mary.  Other team winners were 2nd place St. John the Beloved, 3rd place Corpus Christi, 4th place St. Peter the Apostle, 5th place St. Elizabeth and 6th place St. Matthew.

St. Peter the Apostle in New Castle won the 2005 Spirit Award named in memory of Eleanor DiSimplico Potts, who was very active in CYM Cheerleading.

Results of the JV competition are as follows: 1st place Holy Angels, 2nd place Corpus Christi, 3rd place St. Hedwig, 4th place St. John the Beloved and 5th place St. Anthony.
